Discovering what the Rotterdam CEMS Alumni is up to.
The CEMS Global Alumni Week is approaching (April 16th - 22nd) and this year the Rotterdam School of Management aims to connect alumni and current students with two local events: under the topic “Pardon the Disruption – Entrepreneurship in the Age of Disruption” we are hosting an Entrepreneurship Panel on campus and the following day we will be travelling to Amsterdam together to network with the local alumni chapter.
If you are interested in finding out how these companies are able to disrupt well-established industries from the founders themselves, then the entrepreneurship panel is the event for you! Below you can find an overview of this year’s participating companies:
HousingAnywhere was founded in 2009 by RSM & CEMS alumnus Niels van Deuren, who created the platform after he ran into the problem many of us are familiar with: what to do with your room when you’re going on exchange and how to find a short-term room in a foreign city? It originally started as a network for outgoing exchange students to sublet their rooms in Rotterdam, and incoming students to rent these room. Nowadays, it’s a truly global platform where demand & supply of rooms for international students in 64 countries meet each other, changing the way people find accommodation across the globe.

Openclaims offers insurers, leasing companies and fleet owners an online platform to tender and manage their customers’ motor insurance claims. The Openclaims platform matches individual repair jobs to the best-suited body shop, based on capacity, expertise, lead time, price, and repair quality. The company was founded in 2015 by Lex Orie and Stephan Stergiou who will be joining us for the panel this Wednesday.

CEV.IO is the youngest of the three companies that will be joining this year. Elvinas Predkelis, Mayeul de Kerros and Jean Martin-Monier have been working on their company since 2016. The company provides a platform for restaurants to offer their customers a web-based digital menu while collecting processed user data to identify customer profiles. This ultimately helps the restaurants to increase margins and encourage higher customer spending.

We are looking forward to see you all on campus (Mandeville T3-03) at 18:00 on Wednesday the 18th of April!
